The era of globalization is accompanied by the progress of science (science) and technology is a challenge for Indonesia. Distribution of information that can be accessed easily and quickly resulted in a culture change difficult to control. Unfortunately it is often not the cultural change towards the better, but just the opposite.The magnitude of the challenges of globalization for the nation of Indonesia is not comparable to the quality of human resources and economic resources that we have. Mastery of science and technology we are still low is a social reality that we are experiencing today. Our nation will be left behind if forever be a happy nation emulate and buy the products of a foreign nation. Indonesia will become a weak nation if the people are not creative and appreciate science.

To be able to become an independent nation, advanced, and dignity is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand. Efforts must be made, and it should not for a moment through the process. 
Connection with this, perhaps we need to remember the phrase that says that the nation is a nation that appreciates great literature. Believed to provide a powerful literary works affect cultural transformation. Transformation of the culture in question here is a cultural change that makes this nation towards a better. Therefore, literature should not be underestimated. Literature is a cultural document that became one of the pillars of civilization. 
Works have been believed to lead to insights develop think people that contribute to educating the nation. For readers, literary works can arouse feelings, encouraging people to think about the society and people. Reading literature allows one gets input on humans or society and raises the mind and motivation to do something for humanity or society. After that, there will be a personal concern and members of the public to what is faced by society. 
Mochtar Lubis with confidence once said that literature is able to drive a wave of public awareness, as well as the motivation to do the injecting springboard cultural transformation as soon as possible. What are the cultural changes that are influenced by literature? Here are some of them:1. Critical reading culture in the era of advancement of science and technology;2.
